reel + tiktok videographer for Five15! 

I’m looking for a video storyteller to be my co-copsirator and help me make short, fun videos that can be used as Reels on Instagram and/or TikTok of my art and shop. This is a remote position. You could be based out of anywhere but ideally, I’d prefer someone who is in a similar time-zone (Paficic Time or Eastern). I’d love to find someone who can collaborate with me and edit together things I film with your direction. Ideally we’d make 1 - 4 videos per month. About me: I’m an artist who designs, manufactures and sells products to over 40 retailers in North America. When I am not designing products for my shop, I also create art for companies like Netflix, Popsugar, Cosmopolitan and the New York Times. You can read more about me here.

Duties:

  • You will help me make short videos we can use for Reels on Instagram and/or TikTok, videos like this and this but way better!

  • We will collaborate to come up with ideas, you will tell me what to film and you will edit the videos together to make them look great

  • You will make a plan of videos we will shoot, make organized lists of shots and once I film them, I will send them to you and you will edit them

  • Because you are a video wizard, you will help me not feel like such a grandma when I am trying to make videos. I want to learn from you!

  • You will help me focus on making cool art and products, and you’ll make sure we can share what I create in a video format that aligns with my brand and values

  • Your expertise will make me fall in love with social media again! You’ll be the member of my team I didn’t know I desperately needed!

Requirements:

  • This is a remote position but you’ll be available to meet via zoom on Pacific Time

  • You are extremely detail oriented, even more than me! You can catch things that I might miss

  • Reliable and efficient are your middle names 😊

  • Videos are second nature to you. You know how to tell a cool visual story in 30-60 seconds

  • You are extremely creative

  • You appreciate a bold and colourful asthetic

  • Trends are ok but you get WAY MORE excited about finding new ways of doing things

  • You will NEVER EVER suggest I dance, lip synch or do a sketch on video

  • You totally understand and respect that :)

  • You take extreme pride on your creative work but are also humble and open to new ideas

  • In fact, you love coming up with new ideas!

  • But also love a good ‘tried and true’ formula

  • Bonus: you care about sustainability and share similar values as me. The content of the videos will be based on my art, which mainly focuses on mental health, social justice and climate justice

  • Extra bonus: you are based out of Vancouver Canada and we can meet in person! But not mandatory
